| A Word From Frank: You can probably imagine that I use my computer a lot, what with surfing the web looking for interesting dog stuff and putting The Straight Poop together every couple of weeks. To try to keep up to date I subscribe to a couple of good and useful technical email newsletters... Lockergnome at http://www.lockergnome.com and LangaList at http://www.langalist.com. You might want to take a look and see if they appeal. One recurring theme in these and other online discussions is security. And listen, folks, it's not that tough to be protected... just follow a few very simple rules and you'll avoid just about all of the problems: first, don't open an email attachment unless you know exactly what it is... even if it come from someone you know. Second, install and keep up to date a good anti-virus program. Third, don't fall for "pfishing"... where a crook sends you an email message that looks like it comes from a bank or credit card company and asks you to update your confidential information. Shouldn't be that hard, right? See you next time. Wishing you a warm puppy 'til then. Frank | ||||||
